Product details

FluxPose Beacon

The heart of the system.

The FluxPose Beacon generates the EMF field that enables precise, drift-free 6DOF positional tracking. It forms the foundation of your FluxPose setup, creating a stable tracking environment that allows you to move naturally and freely without line-of-sight limitations. Whether you are building a full body setup or expanding an existing system, the Beacon is the core component that makes FluxPose possible.

Absolute Tracking Without Line of Sight

The FluxPose Beacon generates the EMF field used by the tracker to determine its exact position in 3D space.
Move freely behind furniture, under blankets, or across your entire playspace without worrying about occlusion.

Only a single beacon is needed for your FBT setup (max supported: 1 per standard setup). The beacon is designed to be worn on the hip, keeping it out of your way and allowing tracking everywhere where your VR headset can track.

Easy Charging

Recharge effortlessly using the FluxPose Dock (available separately).
The magnetic connectors makes attaching and removing the trackers and beacon quick and simple.

A single dock can charge up to 8 Trackers and a single beacon.
Charge from 0-100% in just one hour by using a 15W charger connected to the dedicated USB-C PD port on the dock, or in 2.5 hours when the dock is only connected to a PC via its USB-C data port.

Adjustable Performance Modes

  • Low Power: Up to 24 hours – Best for typical use such as walking, light dancing, sitting, or lying down
  • Balanced: Up to 12 hours – Best for active VR such as workouts, dancing, or boxing
  • Performance: 6–7 hours – Best for fast-paced rhythm games or shooters

Only the Beacon battery life is affected by these modes. FluxPose Trackers maintain the same runtime regardless of mode.

Wireless Connection

The FluxPose Dock(available separately) acts as a wireless dongle and supports up to 10 devices.

Optionally, add a Pro Dongle (available separately) to connect up to 10 additional devices via an even stronger connection. When multiple Docks and/or Pro Dongles are connected, they work together seamlessly to let more devices connect and to maximize wireless performance.

Frequently asked questions

Are straps included?

No, straps are not included with the kits. This gives you the choice to use FluxPose how you want, without being required to pay for straps which you might not need.

When you select a kit on the store, it will automatically select a recommended combination of straps to add to the order. You can choose to change the selection, including the option to switch to 1/4" adapters or to upgrade to comfort straps.

Please note that the beacon and trackers do not include mounting points for any strap per default. You will need to add straps or adapters to your order, or DIY your own solution.

Can I change my order or shipping address?

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to change your order or its shipping address after it is placed, but we will try our best.

For store orders, please contact us at contact@fluxpose.com. For Kickstarter pledges, please contact us through Kickstarter DMs.

Can I get an invoice?

Order placed though our store always include an invoice.

To receive an invoice for a Kickstarter pledge, please contact us via Kickstarter DMs.

Do I have to wear the beacon?

Yes, the beacon is meant to be worn. This ensures it is in range of all trackers and allows it to act as an additional tracker (usually for the hip.) Other configurations are possible but are considered DIY.

Do I need a dongle?

The included dock has a built-in wireless dongle. A separate dongle can be used for the following things:

- If you do not want to plug the dock into your PC.

- If the dock will be far away from your playspace or obstructed by other electrical devices.

- If you wish to use more than 10 devices without using an additional dock.

Does a tracker have to be attached to the headset?

Yes, a tracker must be attached to the headset. This is used to align the beacon to your headset and to keep it solidly attached to your playspace.

How fast does it charge?

A dock can charge up to 8 trackers and one beacon in less than 1.5 hours if connected to a powerful charger via its power delivery port. When the dock is only connected to a PC, charging takes about 2.5 hours. Using slower charging prolongs the life of the internal batteries.

How is FluxPose affected by metal?

Nearby metal can interfere with FluxPose, affecting the tracking quality.

Most metal inferference results in the tracking becoming more floaty. This includes rebar in concrete floors, controllers with significant metal, some spring matresses, light metal in desks or bedframes, metal bottles, metal poles, threadmills, kitchen appliences such as ovens, fridges, dishwashers.

More significant metal might cause the tracking to offset or stop working completely. This includes solid steel plates or bars, metal doorframes.

Regular magnets do not affect FluxPose.

Metal interfence generally occurs if the object comes within about 10cm of a tracker or the beacon. When the object is removed, the tracking quickly returns to normal. No recalibration is needed.

Improvements to FluxPose have reduced the impact of metal interference to the point that we believe most people will not be significantly affected by it.

How long does the battery last?

Trackers last up to 24 hours on a single charge.
The beacon has a battery life which depends on the power mode used:

- Low power: 24 hours.
- Normal: 12 hours.
- Performance: 6 hours.

How many trackers do I need?

The Lite kit is the minimum for full-body tracking, or gloves / controller tracking.
The beacon is the hip-tracker, and one tracker is placed on the headset with the included mount. After this, each tracker can be used as an independent tracking point and can be placed anywhere within the range of the beacon.

For full-body tracking you could place one tracker on each foot or leg. For hand tracking, one tracker can be placed on each glove or controller. Additional trackers can be placed on the legs, arms, chest, or any other objects you wish to track.

In cases of extreme metal interference, some setups might give lower quality tracking. See the FAQ entry "How is FluxPose affected by metal?" for more information.

Feel free to ask on the Discord for recommendations for your setup!

Is FluxPose safe?

FluxPose uses an alternating magnetic field similar to how an induction stove works, but with about 5000x less power. There are no known health risks to this technology.

We advise not to use FluxPose if you have a pacemaker or other electronic medical devices. Contact your doctor for advice.

What power mode should I use?

The beacon has 3 power modes, which affect its battery life and the tracking quality of the system.

- Low power: Low energy, such as standing, sitting or laying.

- Normal: High energy, such as dancing.

- Performance: When using controller or gloves tracking.

Using a higher power mode is recommended when trackers are further away from the beacon.

When will orders be delivered?

All orders will be shipped in the following order: Kickstarter Early Bird and Supporter Kits → All other Kickstarter Kits → Kits purchased through the store.

The current estimate is the first half of 2027.
